(42,862 posts)... only he doesn't even see it as trying to "disturb" or "provoke" Trump/Putin. Instead it's more symbolic.

"Not to demean gays! It is not homophobia to depict a Trump/Putin kiss!"

I can't quote them word-for-word, but my son and son-in-law think it's less about anything gay and more about the symbolism of the *cozy* *political* *relationship* between Trump and Putin. If this has been artwork of a Hillary/Putin kiss... in protest and to symbolize some cozy arrangement that transpired between the two... would people be outraged?
Basically the message is that Trump and Putin are "in-bed-together" (so to speak) and not to be taken LITERALLY that they're secret homosexuals.
Anyway, when they were explaining it to me, it made more sense (and less wordy) than how I'm trying to re-state it above. But I think I've expressed the same sentiments they have.
This is one subject on which I'll fall squarely in the middle. I can understand arguments from both sides, I can be sympathetic to both sides... but in the process of being sympathetic to one, I'm not prepared to invalidate the other side.
I certainly hope this isn't used as a "wedge issue" to divide our party even more than it already is.
