Mitch’s power rests in a stable government that he can manipulate. The party changed underneath him into a mob of anarchists who want to tear the whole nation down and rebuild it as a Christo-Fascist dictatorship. Mitch is a nobody when the senate and house are dissolved, and he has very softly said words against the insurrections, but not loud enough to get his sorry ass kicked out of office by the book burners and bomb tossers.
