I tried to get the Real ID last time I got my DL renewed. The hangup for me was all the tracing of my "status" as married, divorced, remarried. I didn't hear any of the men who said they were divorced asked to bring so many documents proving their marital status over the years. And let me tell you... I raised a ruckus about it right there in that little DL office when the first guy said I'm remarried, and no long list of requirements came from the person behind the desk. I called it flat out what i saw it as -- discrimination against me, as a woman.
Beyond the hassle of all the paperwork, this Real ID thing is just setting up another standard by which you will or won't be able to vote, especially if you're female. Mark my words... you can see the handwriting on the wall with this, especially as more male reps are in the news declaring the 19th amendment should be made null and void, because women shouldn't be allowed to vote.
ARGH! There goes my blood pressure again!
