I'm not in Ohio, but the same thing happened in PA a few years ago.

Most of the deletions happened because of drivers license info not matching the voter registration info. For example Robert Jones vs. Bob Jones, or Betty Smith vs. Elizabeth Smith. Also address changes because people move more often in the cities.

As long as people are proactive, and they check to make sure they are currently enrolled, that's the important thing. If they are no longer on voter registration rolls it can be easily fixed ... but they can't wait until Election Day to do it.
