they actually had to remove the cargo that had the personal items belonging to these two astronauts. Meaning clean clothes, Etc. They needed the space for some parts that needed to get up there, and had priority. I can't find a link anywhere to prove this, but I do remember reading it.

So you may have made a joke, but you were right on target!
