Daily Mail settles libel case with Melania Trump for $2.9 million

The Daily Mail has agreed to settle two lawsuits with Melania Trump stemming from an August article that claimed the first lady once served as an escort.
The settlement ends months of litigation for the two parties after the Daily Mail published an article that included unfounded allegations that Trump had served as a high-end escort in the 1990s. Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against the Daily Mail in September, which sought at least $150 million in damages for what Trumps legal team said was lost business opportunities.
The Daily Mail also apologized for making claims that the model may have met her now-husband Donald Trump years earlier and that the couple staged their first meeting, saying that the claim was not true.
Trump settled a similar lawsuit with a Maryland blogger in February for the publication of similar unfounded allegations.

Because (you know) a lot of businesses nixed deals when they found that the nude model worked as an escort and might have met Donald Trump earlier than he claimed.

Fact Check: Melania Trump did not win $900 million defamation lawsuit against 'The View'
By Reuters Fact Check
February 21, 2025 1:42 PM EST Updated February 22, 2025
First lady Melania Trump did not win a purported $900 million defamation lawsuit against "The View" talk show and one of its hosts Sunny Hostin, contrary to posts circulating online sharing a short TikTok video and a headline from YouTube.
A search of court records showed no evidence of such a lawsuit involving the first lady. An ABC spokesperson said the information is false.
A post on Threads, shared a 65-second-long compilation of video clips with a TikTok logo and account handle and the caption, "Malania wins $900 M 'defamation lawsuit' against The View & Sunny Hostin Part 1."
The video includes a clip of Melania Trump discussing lawsuits she has filed in the past during a 2016 interview, with CNNs Anderson Cooper, as well as an excerpt from an episode of ABCs "The View" in October 2024.

OP
Bless her little heart. She's as sue-happy as her husband, the "Defamer In Chief."

Her only reputation is that of a high dollar escort, she made it, she own it.
