Mike nods dutifully—
As democracy twiddles its thumbs.

“I’m both Speaker and Chief!” Trump declared,
And his cronies all clapped, unimpaired.
Johnson smiled from the side,
With obedience wide—
For rebellion? He’d never have dared.

As the government shuttered once more,
And the critics cried, “This is war!”
Mike said, “Just be still—
It’s one big, beautiful bill!”
While the nation kept eyeing the door.

When the call came from Trump’s gilded den,
