In reply to the discussion: Why Some of the Smartest Progressives I Know Will Vote for Trump over Hillary [View all]lapfog_1
(31,205 posts)I'm reaching an age where that is a real concern.
If I vote for Hillary in November... it will be a vote against Trump. And that pretty much commits me to vote "for" Hillary again in 4 years (assuming she wins and runs again). I will never vote for a Republican nominee. Ever.
But I want to vote FOR someone...
If Trump wins... even with my vote for Hillary... I will probably have that chance in 4 years, or at least a hope of it.
My largest concern is Global Warming... and I don't think humanity has that many more chances to elect a leader that will do something about it (other than to approve pipelines to carry tar sands oil to refineries and frack the hell out the planet).
My worry is that Trump would do much worse in 4 years than Hillary will do in 8... and not just on Global Warming.
