11. No, he's no that far along

I'd put him at 3, at the mos.. From time to time, he seems quite in control and normal (for him). I do think he's lost his ability to read and remember. He confabulates, he perseverates. Hr does remember things like mo9vie ploits, confuses them with newscasts.

People around him can blow off Stage 3 as lapses due to fatigue combined with age, which is exactly what is happening with many of his staff and all of his fan club.

Stage 5 is severely impaired, no one can manage to blow it off since the person starts to get apathetic about many things, some of which Fats is still clearly obsessed with, like his appearance, although he is demonstrably unable to do the whole job of getting ready by himself.

During his first term, he moved around the edge of stage 1, generally compensating but with declining vocabulary. People watching video of him from 10 years prior would notice the difference (if they knew what they were looking for) but most would not have identified it as ementia. His rallies were different, I agree he was likely high as a kite on something or other, making assessment useless beyond "this guy is wacko."
