defending Netanyahu's moving after Oct 7- from an understandable retributive attack on HAMAS- to an indiscriminate murder/starvation of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, including an overwhelming number of children. These few vocal posters argued for months that there "were no innocent civilians" and that statistics on the killed children, NGO workers providing food and medical intervention, were HAMAS lies, despite all international evidence to the contrary. Now the repeated (at least a dozen horrific episodes over the past year) of IDF shooting or bombing starving and injured children (waiting in foodlines or for medical clinics) are denied, while Netanyahu--his corruption and determined goal of eradicating any and all Palestinians from Gaza is defended while accusing horrified commenting DUers-who merely want peace in the region- of supporting Hamas. These few, but repeated posters do not seemingly defend Trump's corruption and horrific (and sometimes murderous) tactics towards our own immigrants, but Netanyahu can not be criticized, else the otherwise Israeli-supporting DUers will be pelted with accusations of antisemitism.
So, no. There are plenty of people on DU who care about the many humanitarian horrors now and in recent years that have nothing to do with Israel-Palestine. They are drowned out by the ongoing and often disingenuous argumentative turmoil over the latter.
