4. In the early 80s, I met Yosemite Sam's creator..Friz Freleng...

It was at a film festival. After a speech in which he told much of his history, he answered questions for about an hour. I recall that the animators at Warner's were not paid enough according to Freleng. But one important aspect he mentioned, is that they had total creative control. The head of Warner Bros studio didn't really care about the cartoons, so as long as they were produced. they were not censured. All and all, these are among the funniest movies (yes short movies) ever made. (in my opinion) I also met Chuck Jones once. He created and directed..the Road Runner cartoons.
