2. In the urinals in the men's rooms at Schiphol airport, ...

... they have flies embedded in the porcelain that men tend to direct their stream toward. The idea is that this reduces the puddles on the floor around the urinals. The first time I ever saw one of those, I aimed my stream at it, thinking it was a real fly (they are very realistic looking). And yes, I have also used the outdoor urinals in the red light district. My last of about a dozen visits to Amsterdam was April 2007. I miss it, that whole country is literally picture-postcard pretty. In spite of the public urination problem.
