7. One winter I lived "off the grid" in a cabin up by Glacier National Park.

No electricity or indoor plumbing. The night skies were incredible up there and I got to see the aurora several times. If you live in a place like that and have to go outside to visit the outhouse at night you’re going to see the northern lights. Guaranteed.

The next year I moved down to Kalispell and never saw the night sky again.
