These Glass-Domed Cabins Let You Watch the Northern Lights in Bed

8. Those cabins look cool! My mom saw the Northern Lights in NYC...

This was back in the early '30's or so. Less light pollutuon.
It was a hot summer night so her sibs, and parents were sleeping on the roof top (apt building).

At some point part of the sky (probably northwards) starting to sort of pulse red, and maybe another color.
Finally they saw... The Curtains !!!
Like wow.

Even with less light pollutuon that had to be some pretty strong activity from our sun to have it come down that
far!
I wonder - maybe there's some record of showing the sun's activity going back decades. 🤔

My dad I believe saw them when he was visiting Seattle, WA for work!

I also have a long time on line acquaintance who lives in Finland. He's about a third of the way up in his country. He has seen them, and posted a photo here, and there.

It's part of Alaska Uni. Tthey show both north and south with maps for most parts of the world.

When I hear that there's going to be higher sun activity I've been checking them for a bunch of years now. Very cool site!
