I LOVE the Friends theme song and the show is one of my favorites of all time! It got me through some really dark days.
The episode weren't stand alone. In order to "get" the humor you have to know what the stories are with the characters. their relationships, and their situations.
I think I related to it because I was somewhat new to California when the show first aired and I completely related to my friends being my family (heck, at 66 years old they still are)! There's a group of us that have even been roommates on and off for all these years.
What can I say, the show makes me happy
