1. I recently saw a Cooper's hawk swoop down and snag a cardinal off my bird feeder.

I was both horrified and fascinated; I love cardinals but hawks gotta eat, too. It's like when you watch the nature documentaries on TV about lions hunting antelopes in Africa - I want the poor antelope to escape but I also want the lions to be able to eat and feed their cubs. Mother Nature is a cruel b**** sometimes,.
