Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Mary Travers, Judy Durham, Natalie Merchant, Natalie Cole, Sandy Denny, Dolores O'Riordan, Cilla Black, all of the "girl groups" of the '60's, Carole King, Judy Collins, Nina Simone, Melanie Safka, all of the great women who sang backing vocals for recordings through the many years, Nanci Griffith, all of the wonderful women who sang for the "big bands" through those decades and my list goes on with a few I probably forgot.
