9. I stayed in a motel in Cripple Creek

It was about two weeks after the season closed and was the only place that would even think about renting me a room. Unfortunately it was a smoking room. Stunk to high heaven. I slept (or attempted to) with all the windows open. It was fucking freezing and snowed during the night. Had a nice meal at a local restaurant, though.
