5. I'd been very curious about the Manchester Apollo performance of the song (before the final version

was recorded) because of Johnny Marr's description of it there:

At about the same time I watched from the side of the stage as they played it at the Manchester Apollo. I couldn’t work out if what I was seeing was a band totally at one with their audience or so elevated that they were on another plane. It was both, and I thought to myself, “This is what rock’n’roll means.”


I could not find any video, but did find a fan's audio of the complete concert - and discovered Johnny had been there because he'd joined Oasis on stage for a couple of songs (Champagne Supernova and I Am The Walrus).
