And he only resigned because he couldn't get along with the City Administrator and a fellow councilman. So, why not just be Mayor instead. Then you don't have to get along with them. You can just boss them around.

A Red Oak resident for almost 50 years, Haidsiak is a graduate of Bedford High School. A retired Iowa National Guard reserve, Haidsiak spent 28 years in the military, with tours of duty in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. Haidsiak has been involved in various veterans organizations, including local VFW, American Legion and AmVets chapters, as well as the Kiwanis and Masonic Lodge. Haidsiak was elected to the Red Oak City Council's 1st ward seat in November, 2023, only to resign back in May. In his resignation letter, he cited the inability to work with City Administrator Lisa Kotter and the "tension between himself and a fellow councilman" as the reasons for his resignation. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Monday morning, Haidsiak says he's running for mayor to bring changes to city government.
