MOORHEAD — One of the students stranded on the side of the road by a Moorhead school bus driver Tuesday, Nov. 22, claims the driver used a racial slur as he abandoned about 20 children in the city's industrial park.
The incident took place about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of 12th Avenue South, Superintendent Lynne Kovash said Wednesday.
Kovash said there was apparently some sort of misbehavior on the bus, and the "fed up" driver told about 20 middle-school students to get off the bus and left them stranded.
"He called us the 'n-word' when we got off the bus," DeShanna Dotson, a student at Horizon Middle School, said Wednesday.
