Hendersonville adds transportation bond referendum on ballot for primary election [View all]
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) The City of Hendersonville has announced that voters will vote on a Transportation General Obligation Bond referendum during the primary election.
According to a news release, if the referendum is approved, it would authorize the city to issue up to $10 million in General Obligation bonds to help fund transportation infrastructure improvements.
Bond proceeds would be supplemented by around $900,000 in existing transportation funding annually for five years, equaling up to a total of $14.5 million for transportation projects.
The City of Hendersonville says the funding would go to three primary areas: street repaving, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility improvements, and complete streets and connectivity projects.
