Is Sherrod Brown going to leave the US Senate voluntarily or will he be defeated? [View all]

Sherrod Brown has been in the US Senate since 2006. He defeated Mike DeWine in 2006 by a 12 percent margin, Josh Mandel in 2012 by a 6 percent margin, and John Rennacci in 2018 by a 7 percent margin. In 2024, I expect Brown to win re-election by a less than 5 percent margin.
In 2030, Brown will be 78 years old, 1 year older than Howard Metzenbaum was when he retired in 1994, 1 year older than John Glenn was when he retired in 1998, 4 years older than George Voinovich was when he retired in 2010. If Brown decides to run again in 2030 and wins, he will be the longest serving US Senator from OH.
