Almost seventy years ago while in service I remember being out on a very hot White Sands Proving Grounds and suffering a heat stroke. From what I was told I went bonkers and went after the first Sgt. with a shovel so evidently we were digging an emplacement. When I came to they were icing me up everywhere and then medics came and took me to the hospital. I remembered none of what had happened until my friends told me about it.
The doctor there told me that I had to be careful because it can kill you and once you suffered a heat stoke it would be easier and easier to have one again each time you had it. Needless to say I took his advice.
