In the EU, it’s less. Divide the US number by 4 passengers to get 63 grams per km for cars.

The article points out that even small, diesel EU cars with only one occupant (the US average is 1.22 occupants) are generally worse than commercial airliners.

Something to think about when you are deciding whether to fly or drive.
