10. Rocket science involves maintenance, who knew?

Russia, from the early days, has always realied heavily on Ukrainian engineering and then electronics, it's one reason they so desperately wanted to scare them back into being a puppet state. Oops.

I'm sad to see this, the USSR was far ahead of us at one time and their space propgram freed up a lot of R&D money here that Republicans were loath to spend. It was because of this that we have such amazing things as space based telescopes and the unmanned probes that have told us so much about our neighborhood as well as starting to tell us what interstellar space is like. I'm not celebrating this one and Ihope the hiatus is a temporary one, that once Putin is gone, Russia begins to go sane, crazy doesn't seem to be working out for them.
