6. Edjang's description of what Hanjour did is nonsense

Anyone can compare Edjang's hyperbolic description to Hanjour's actual slow, wobbly turn as captured by the flight data recorder (skip to 1:18:25):

?t=1h18m25s

Edjang doesn't mention that a good pilot wouldn't have needed to make that turn, anyway: A good pilot could have held the plane in a sideways slip to avoid over-speeding and dove straight into the Pentagon. Hanjour's turn was the safe way for an inexperienced pilot to lose altitude without gaining too much speed.

Edjang also quotes Cap'n Bob Balsamo's absurd "9g acceleration" pulling out of the dive. If Edjang hasn't seen that bullshit refuted, then he must not have looked into it very far.

It's kind of bizarre hearing Edjang claim it would take extraordinary skill to hit some of the largest building in the world, considering that pilots of all skill levels manage to hit far narrower runways thousands of times every day.

But the best part is Edjang's incredulity that Hanjour had the remarkable skill to hit right at the base of the Pentagon wall. That kind of Texas Sharpshooter fallacy occurs frequently when you think backwards, starting at the conclusion. There is no reason to think that's the spot Hanjour was aiming for, and good reason to think he damn near blew the mission by hitting the bridge or the Pentagon lawn, because he wasn't an experienced pilot.

Another fail, wildbill.
