6. Casual ignorance?

Having experienced severe RLS one night as a side effect of a medication I'd just started (which I immediately stopped), I'm going to very generously describe your post as dangerously ignorant.

Attributing this solely to caffeine consumption is remarkably uninformed (side note: I certainly wasn't consuming caffeine in any form), as it is a serious condition that appears to be related to dopamine receptor subtypes. Its easy to dismiss when you haven't experienced it, but it took only one night with a severe case of it to develop an inkling of understanding why it can negatively impact some people so badly that they are driven to suicide.

In general, how about trying not to belittle people's suffering? No matter what we are inclined to believe in any situation, it might be useful to acknowledge that perhaps -- just perhaps -- we don't have perfect understanding. Fair enough?
