...to even mention the death of my brother, my only sibling, at the way-too-young age of only 23. I was 26. Scuba diving adventure gone wrong. Especially if having to tell someone about it for the first time, I would dissolve into tears, even years later. He died in 1978.

After EMDR, I became able to discuss it when necessary, and sometimes be helpful to others who have had similar losses. Wisdom I would rather not have, but I’m glad I am able to share it when appropriate.

I don’t know how EMDR works, but it does - at least for me.
