find a counselor who specializes in hoarding. I have a brother and sister in law whose house I haven't been to in more than a decade, because of her hoarding. The last time I was there my sons were maybe 10-12 years old and spending the night with their cousins, and they had to follow paths through the stacks of stuff in the most of the downstairs--the upstairs I guess was better. My own parents who live 5 miles away haven't even been invited over in 10 years now. All family events are held at my parents' or other relatives' houses. No one addresses or speaks of it, and as far as I know she hasn't gotten help. My family does not talk about mental health issues, that falls under "mind your own business". If you have a daughter who's a nurse, she's the logical one to help you go about finding a professional and speaking with your wife about an intervention. Good luck.
