safety glass has a thin film on it to keep it from shattering. Your local recycling place would know. I looked online for my area (STLMO), and found that there was one place, but I'm not sure if they are local or not...by the way, they usually don't accept broken glass due to possible injury to workers. Which makes sense. There is a place below called LoadUp!
