Not exactly a Pet post (tho I could do a bunch of those!)

6. I had a Flicker in my backyard in KcK.

Was doing a backyard bird journal at the time. Took me a bit to find out what it was.. I'd never seen one before, and all I could begin to guess was some kind of woodpecker (which I think they are related?). Cool birds!

If I can get a handle finally on the inside of my house again, I want to set up my birdfeeders for winter and start a bird journal for here in Leavenworth. I've got catbirds out the wazoo here! (LOL) And I know I've seen some chickadees and a few titmouse. And we have gorgeous cardinals.

Grandson and girlfriend are coming home late this evening, so I've got some free rein time in getting a pot of chili finished for them. I plan to head to the front porch and see if the owl song is in chorus tonight, too...
