Our Vet's tech once asked if we'd like to talk to her! Sure, of course!
I "baby-talk" to her all the time, unless she's ignoring me, and do so around everyone. Actually, I "baby-talk" to all critters because I love them all. Snakes and reptiles are excluded - didn't like my son's iguana at all.
Edited to say we have little blue-tailed skink families around our home and I love to watch those little critters. And I don't mind the big black snake that lives in our side brush.
We think he keeps the water moccasins from coming up into our yard. We live on water and have seen those scary things.
