4. I grew up in small town America.

Chalk art was part of the rite of passage. Every kid in town took part in it. Lots of "Killroy was here" was seen. Some of us even chalked games on the school sidewalks with the schools blessing! In political season there were even political slogans chalked. Chalk is not spray paint after all.
