...is located directly adjacent to the Philadelphia International Airport and Interstate-95. It is located in Tinicum, Pennsylvania and is named for the John Heinz the ketchup heir and first husband of Theresa Heinz-Kerry.

I had never been back there, and found out about halfway through that it was too wet for slick tires (28x700 Continental Gator skins). It's a cinder trail, though, so it was firm beneath the water and slush (and I wasn't digging a rut in mud).

It is just north of the Commodore Barry Bridge (the big steel one), which crosses the Delaware River into New Jersey at Chester, Pennsylvania.

For the rides I like, a hybrid bike (Giant Escape) is best suited for getting a good roll on pavement while still being able to go off-road once in a while.

(the sequences are Wilmington DE, Christina River waterfront; Chester PA beneath the Commodore Barry Bridge; the JHNWR; and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge between Philadelphia and Camden NJ)
