If you have a PS3, then you get top of the line full games for free, which change each month. Games like Batman: Arkham City and Bioshock: Infinate. You also get some indie games free each month. They also offer lots of discounts, usually around 50% off.

If you have a PS4, then you get one little game, since their isn't much out on the PS4 yet, and a few discounts. You need to have Playstation Plus to play online with a PS4.

For both systems, free games only last as long as you have your subscription to Playstation Plus. Anything you have to spend money on you keep after your subscription runs out.

If you only have a PS4, and you don't play online, then I say skip it for now. If you have a PS3, and enjoy a wide variety of games, and you like playing a few different games each month, then it's definitely worth it.
