All women, Southern Baptist women included, have been forced into the workplace since the ‘70s by increasingly burdening economic conditions. No longer is the “traditional” family setup widespread, most women work outside the home as an equal partner just to pay the bills.

Some Southern Baptist women recognize this and should be commended for rebelling against outdated gender roles from a tainted version of Christianity. Those roles favored by male leaders are not for religious purposes, but exist for the domination of women and maintaining power.
