2. I knew someone who grew up JW

and never quite understood why she hated them so much. I;ve been finding out slowly in the 40 years since then.

Irish Catholic is my own yardstick for religious lunacy and damage to children, especially girls. I have to say the JWs come pretty close to that. Shit, at least the Irish get to celebrate that day you took your first breath, became a separate human being, and met your parents for the first time. That's a pretty big deal, especially to kids.

It's obvious that a bunch of sour old patriarchs don't have the wits to be able to read a Bronze Age book and interpret it properly, in historical context. They seem to be looking for every excuse to be flinty hearted killjoys.
