5. It Doesn't Explain the Languages

There are several distinct language families that are as different from each other as Chinese is from English. If native Americans are one big ethnic group (which doesn't really seem plausible), how did the diverse languages arise? And are there any that seem to have a distant kinship with Asian or Australasian languages?
