2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Clinton staff won't allow press to shoot her boarding private jet... [View all]Divernan
(15,480 posts)113. An unflattering angle? Or health issue - needs help getting up steps?
As a woman of a certain size, I wouldn't want any one photographing me from the rear as I went up stairs or steps. But I guess that's just me. Health? Knee problems requiring taking steps one at a time? That happens to me occasionally. Just trying to figure this out.
This seems to be a new requirement or limitation re the press - so what's changed?
There have been many reports like the following from July of 2015, documenting her extensive use of private jets - especially during her Senate years, and that didn't stop her from using private jets - and it's to be expected of all candidates during this hectic phase of the campaign. So what prompted this change re reporters/press?
Hillary Dead Broke Clinton Hopped In A Private Jet On Her Way Out Of Iowa Yesterday
Hillary Clinton and her campaign went to great lengths a few months ago to demonstrate exactly how cheap they were. The idea was this: get stories written about how frugal Clintons campaign is so Clintons 2008 donors wont feel burned again by her lavish spending.
A reporter followed Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta as he rode the bus (Les Miserable!) from New York to Washington. In April, the campaign told reporters the campaign office printers default was set to double-sided. And campaign manager Robby Mook forlornly told donors, hat in hand, that he would not be reimbursed for his cab ride to that days donor meeting.
But outside of her carefully constructed media appearances, it seems old habits die hard. An America Rising tracker caught Clinton and her staff boarding a private jet yesterday as she left the state:
This news should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed Clintons career. Clinton spent:
(1) $19.2 million on private jets during her 2008 campaign alone.
(2) $225,000 of taxpayer money on private jets as a senator.
(3) And the Bill, Hillary, & Chelsea Clinton Foundation spent $50 million10% of their udgeton travel between 2003 and 2012
It seems the dead broke phase of Clintons campaign is officially over.

Obviously, I know what the intent of their post is, I'm talking about Hillary's intent....

LOL, who the hell said a private jet was an issue. It is trying to hide it that make her look silly.

In fairness, I asked because you had posted that you *knew* why press was not allowed to film her.

Ahh, she travels in a separate jet than the press does. The press takes the same plane with Bernie
