In reply to the discussion: So who would YOU like to see as Hillary Clinton's running mate? [View all]stuffmatters
(2,580 posts)Warren & Sanders both great, but I fear their loss of power as prime senators if they become a Veep in a Dem Senate
Franken is a brilliant, educated guy with immense media likeability and ease. Yes, his quick wit/smarts would devastate Trump; he would properly keep the Repub austerity sadists on the defensive thereafter.
Franken projects decency, integrity and real life accomplishment (as one of the creators of Harvard Lampoon into SNL... one of the most beloved and longest running of American tv shows). Maybe it's just me, but I would so look forward to him bringing some watchability to what has become a grinding, grim campaign that will continue into a strife /obstruction swollen & depressing next eight years.
If ever there was a moment in our electoral history that could use the unity, love and targeted "lightening up" of Al Franken, it is now. Franken was a huge gift to the Dem Party when he came to the Senate. They have never, ever utilized his talents and appeal strategically.
