(11,243 posts)No demographic is monolithic in their support. AAs are the closest in their support of Democrats. This is why the GOP always try extra hard to suppress them. Jewish Americans used to be second. Not sure if that is still true. But I know plenty of Republican Jews too.
I am a white woman from the South who voted for Obama. And supported him in the primary a full 1-1/2 years before the General. I also volunteered with ACORN when that was possible. Pretty sure that put me in the minority of that demographic
I know many rabidly conservative 21 year olds, some of them educated, thoughtful and highly intelligent.
I am under 50, considered by most in the real world to be wildly liberal (not completely true) and yet I support Clinton this time. My good friend, an under-35 lesbian immigration rights activist whose wife was an avowed socialist since waaaay before that was cool also supports Hillary.
I am with you. Don't diss young voters. They are important and they are getting SCREWED by the job market, student loans, and will have the fun of fighting all the wars.
Also, don't diss older female voters. We are the soldiers of the Democratic Party and have been putting up with sexist bullshit from liberals and conservatives alike since before you whippersnappers were even born.
Winning elections is about turning out base voters (for dems that is women AND youngs) and then shaving off percentages of the oppositions support. Repub women, indys, etc. Let's not make stupid divisions in the base.
