1. Let's reframe that statement, "New Democrats" worried about policies that actually appeal to voters

What they are nervous about is the reaction of their corporate patrons.

“But inequality is not the biggest problem we face: it is symptomatic of the biggest problem we face, which is slow growth.”

We've had plenty of growth over the past 30 years, huge increases in productivity, and the middle class has gotten screwed with all the rewards going to the one percenters.
