I had posted it in GD back on Thursday;

There's a lot to take in with this particular case as it goes along that makes it a little gray. Singer's long been the target of grief by people for being one of the few openly gay directors in Hollywood that does big films. But he also never made it easy on himself by getting involved in a whole lot of skeevy parties over the years.

The 2000 allegations were aimed at a lot of people at the party, but Singer was not included in it, which does introduce a bit of concern that it only comes up now.

The Apt Pupil stuff is kind of dicey in its own way, but it's the kind of situation that can get blown out of proportion since it can be viewed as problematic while also viewed as people were brought in to do a scene for a film, didn't really realize what they were signing on for (that was a rough film with nazis and the like) and then complained only to be replaced by older actors that looked young to achieve the same results. Claiming he was accused of raping minors for the scene in Apt Pupil is a bit of a stretch since that's not what he was accused of. He was accused of doing it for sexual gratification, not rape.

This not a pro or con post on my part, just a little more info.
