Death penalty sought for Everett woman in Ariz. murders: Minutemen border guard leader

ARIVACA, Ariz. (AP) - Prosecutors said Thursday they plan to seek the death penalty against former Everett resident Shawna Forde and two others charged in an Arizona home invasion that left a 9-year-old girl and her father dead.

The trio are alleged to have dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into a home about 10 miles north of the Mexican border in rural Arivaca on May 30, wounding a woman and fatally shooting her husband and their daughter.

A notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Forde, Jason Eugene Bush and Albert Robert Gaxiola was filed Monday, Deputy Pima County attorney Kellie Johnson said.

Forde is the leader of the Minutemen American Defense border watch group. She's accused of planning the attack to help fund her anti-immigrant operations.

This is starting to look like a core group of thugs who wanted to play on both sides of the law and rape the lucrative river of illicit goodies moving through the border (guns, drugs, people, cash dumps, etc) while using the "front" of patriotic border patrol...

When the Mexican immigration debates really hit the primetime TV it would have been easy enough to recruit and fleece the freeps for donations and manpower...These folks saw a way to legitimize their public image while hiding behind their patriotism -- It had to be the ultimate power rush to act with this much impunity and still have Dobbs fellate them every night...And sure enough they either got too greedy or too careless and tragedy is the result (I don't want to think about how many other bodies are buried in the region)...

Either way, whether it is the "official" or "unofficial" method, these three will take the dirt nap once in prison...Most likely some of the traffickers they ripped off have friends or relatives inside and they have LONG memories...

You sound like you think there's just one such group. There are a bunch.

This one was "Minuteman American Defense".

There's "Minuteman Civil Defense Corps".

The one that most people talk about is Gilchrist's group, "Minuteman Project".

There are more. "They" don't have a single governing board or committee, so this Forde person probably was only involved with the first ("MAD"), and MAD is, it seems, MADly trying to divorce themselves from these particular folk.

Since she is from my old old old stomping grounds, I was intrigued enough to look her up.

Forde has a long and troubled history in Snohomish County, including juvenile convictions for felonies, prostitution and other street crime. Some of her past was recounted by The Herald in a profile that appeared Feb. 22.

Forde was at the center of a flurry of violence that began Dec. 22 when her ex-husband was shot in his Everett home. A week later, she reported being beaten and raped by strangers at the same house.

On Jan. 15, Forde was found in a north Everett alley with apparent gunshot wounds.

She claimed the violence was all retaliation for her activities targeting criminal groups operating on both sides of the border between Mexico and the U.S.

The cases here remain under investigation by Everett police.

Forde's ex-husband was seriously wounded during the Dec. 22 shooting. Reached Friday, he was distraught hearing that a child died. He declined to comment on his former wife.
