Thomas Manning, a Junction City tire dealer, testified Friday he sold McVeigh the dilapidated car the former Army soldier was driving when he was arrested after the bombing. He said McVeigh disappeared for 15 or 20 minutes while he finished the paperwork.
Prosecutors allege McVeigh used the time to walk to a nearby bus depot to reserve the Ryder truck used to deliver the massive bomb that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995, resulting in 168 deaths.
Evidence already presented at the trial showed telephone calls were made from the bus depot a few days before the bombing. The caller used a prepaid debit card that has been linked to one of Nichols' alleged aliases.
