Bills of Attainder re OWS

A bill of attainder (also known as an act of attainder or writ of attainder) is an act of a legislature declaring a person or group of persons guilty of some crime and punishing them without benefit of a judicial trial.



Bills of attainder were used through the 18th century in England, and were applied to British colonies as well. One of the motivations for the American Revolution was anger at the injustice of attainder—though the Americans themselves used bills of attainder to confiscate the property of British loyalists (called Tories) during the revolution. American dissatisfaction with attainder laws motivated their prohibition in the Constitution (see the case of Parker Wickham).

2. It sure appears as if they're passing bills of attainder against OWS

Mayor Moneybags, Wall Street banksters, and their NYPD mercs, have invented laws out of whole cloth effectively treating OWs as if they we were the criminals instead of the Wall Street Mafia and their henchmen.

Corporations, along with the politicians they have in their back pockets, have been using the police as personal goon squads to silence the Occupy movement forcibly, if not outright violently, summarily arresting, beating, and, in the case of Scott Olsen, trying to kill unarmed civilians exercising their Constitutional rights.

They even go as far as giving illegal orders to steal property without probable cause and call it confiscation for health, safety, and fire reasons. What a crock of shit!!
