If It Sounds Good Do It and To Hell With the Consequence |

The Republican party and their fellow travelers are the most myopic people in the world. They do not have the ability to think long-term. Today’s terrorism is due to yesterday’s actions of the Republican party.
Case-in-point:
The Reagan-Bush team poured billions and billions of dollars worth of arms into the Middle East without regard to how those arms would be used in the future. More important, the Reagan-Bush team act as the catalyst and agent in building a trans-Arab terrorist infrastructure which is now the organization that is blowing up the world.
The quote of the day on this subject is taken from the book, House of Saud, House of Bush.
“People forget we invented this shit, that Bill Casey was getting the Saudi fundamentalists to assemble all these kooks and go out and kill Russians. No one asked what would happen when it was over. “ a Senate Investigator of BCCI
Once again the we are going to pay a price for the lack of ability of the Republican Party to look over the hill and understand that today’s action holds tomorrow’s payday.

...but I think we all have some responsibility for what has happened. The Democrats, as well as the American public.

4. Raygoon and Poppy should have been prosecuted for Iran-Contra. |

Things might be different today had there been consequences to that bit of folly. I am reminded of Barbara Tuchman's excellent book -- "The March of Folly".
