Al-Sadr Threatens Homicide Attacks |
|
Really? Sounds like A No shit Sherlock kind of statement. I mean, isn't the purpose of a suicide attack to kill. What do you guys think about this moronic wording? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,117957,00.html

10. Are you defending Sadr? |
|
You can't be serious, no liberal can honestly defend Sadr. He stands for Islamic fundamentalism, which in case your new to the plant goes against everything liberals support.

13. i'm not necessarily defending sadr.. |
|
I just can't believe that some people on this board expect these people are going to sit on their nuts and do nothing. Since they don't have gunships, or F18s, they resort to whatever methods are available.
I would be interested to know how you would react to an occupying force in your neighborhood.

3. It just drive me Nuts. The point of bombing is to kill |
|
But a suicide bombing is a specific kind that ends with the bombers suicide. I mean, a homocide bombing can be by a plane, by tank, by pipe bomb on porch. Only on the republican news channel I guess.

4. Read George Orwell's "Politics in the English Language" |
|
Same with targeted killing instead of "assasination", modifying words to make description more politically expedient. Both these terms came from Israeli lobby media think-tanks. It's just bullshit.

Fux Version Al-Sadr Threatens Homicide Attacks Friday, April 23, 2004 Associate Press KUFA, Iraq — A Shiite Muslim cleric threatened on Friday to launch homicide attacks if U.S. troops attack him and his forces in the holy city of Najaf. Muqtada al-Sadr was speaking during the Friday prayers sermon in Kufa, another Shiite Muslim holy city few miles from Najaf. The area is mostly controlled by his Al-Mahdi Army militia, whose members have clashed with U.S. troops several times since their uprising began on April 4.
AP Version Iraqi Cleric Al Sadr Threatens Attacks
Fri Apr 23,11:07 PM ET By QASSID JABBAR, Associated Press Writer
Radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr threatened Friday to unleash suicide bombers if U.S. troops move against him in Iraq's holiest Shiite city, and his militiamen attacked a Bulgarian convoy, killing a soldier. Meanwhile, police in Basra arrested five Iraqis believed linked to al-Qaida and suspected in brutal suicide bombings Wednesday that killed 74 people.

The idea that we should call them "homicide" bombers is laughably redundant.
Every bomber is trying to kill people. That's the whole purpose. The difference between a pilot dropping a bomb, or a nutjob like Tim McVeigh, is that they don't go up with the device.
Soldiers are acting in war, so it's not legal homicide. But, McVeigh certainly was guilty of it. So, he was a HOMICIDE bomber. A guy who straps one to his own body, and then sets it off in a crowd is a suicide bomber. The only distinction between the two is the location of the bomber when the device goes off.
Somehow or other, the propagandists thought that the term "suicide bomber" implied sympathy to the attacker. I don't know who would think such a thing, but that appears to be the reasoning.
Since it came from the neocons, it must be stupid. The Professor

The jihadis get pissy about the term, too, since suicide is forbidden.
Maybe we can all settle on "collateral damage bombs".
