Will Democrats 'go along' with Bush's* plans for Iran?
- Will we see a repeat of the events leading up to the invasion of Iraq? Will Bush* & Gang ratchet up the FEAR level and 'suggest' that we might see 'mushroom clouds' over America if we don't act NOW?

- Will there be another resolution? Will Democrats vote for it rather than risk being called unpatriotic by the ruling fascists? Will they actually READ it this time?

- Or will Bush*...like the Gipper and his Poppy before him...use the CIA to fight a secret war in the shadows?

- It should be clear to every American by now that we can't afford another four years of Bush* and the PNAC (New Pearl Harbor) Gang. It should be just as clear that we can't afford another minute of Democrats who won't take a stand and fight to end the Bush* Doctrine of aggressive war.

9. But doesn't their refrain sound hauntingly familiar?
I recall those hot summer days in July 2002...

25. They are NOT the same...
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 09:12 PM by Q
....they have different hair stylists.

- Why is it too much to ask that Democrats at least stand up to the criminal actions and illegal acts of the Bushies? Support the war if you must...but DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH CRIMES AGAINST our nation, Constitution and the Iraqi people.

5. Yes
All that they (the GOP media department) need to do is to play clips of the embassy hostages and 9-11 back-to-back over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

...those who would vote for him even IF he got a blowjob in the WH. Don't underestimate the Bush* cabal and their ability to 'win' elections by any means.

11. good question
and not just for dems, will republicans support a war against Iran?

But it's kind of stupid and pointless just to speculate. Why not contact your representatives and see what they say? I've already emailed mine, and I'll post their answers if they come.

12. Believe it or not, they read it last time:
- Will there be another resolution? Will Democrats vote for it rather than risk being called unpatriotic by the ruling fascists? Will they actually READ it this time?

Bush's resolution regarding Iraq was rejected, and it took Congress a month to get one that passed. You might be thinking of the USA PATRIOT Act, which wasn't read by most before it was passed.

17. No, no you don't.
Hey, you said it, I'm just agreeing with you.

In the normal process of legislation, different versions of bills will surface. The Bush Administration proposed a version that was a complete blank-check. I haven't found the full text of this resolution, but I have read that it lacked even the basic limits of the IWR that passed.

Several alternatives were floated: one, the Biden-Lugar version, was DOA, precisely because it was superior to the version that eventually passed.

13. My money is on Kerry invading Iran.
Works into the script better. Kerry will do the deed this time for PNAC.

That will make domestic dissent harder and take the steem out of the left wing.

He will "have to avenge us for the REAL terrorists this time".

14. The only way Bush can invade Iran
is if he imposes a draft. Why? We simply don't have enough troops. Believe me, people are going to question Bushco this time around if there's a draft.

like we did to Iraq. Maybe just 5 years instead of ten before we go for regieme change. And Kerry brings back the draft so we can fight the real terrorists.

19. Iran- Military Power
Citing international military sources, the study estimated Iran's armed forces at more than 545,000 troops, including 350,000 infantry soldiers, 50,000 air personnel and nearly 20,600 navy men. Its defence spending was put at an average 2.7 per cent of the gross domestic product over the past few years, one of the highest ratios.

With such a force, the study considered Iran as militarily superior to all GCC countries, adding that nearly 70 per cent of Iran's arsenal includes old US-made weapons.

Iran's first major home-made missiles include Shahin 2 and Iqab, with a range of between 60-150km. Medium-range missiles were then developed, with a range of between 500-600km and another updated generation with a range of 1,000 developed in collaboration with North Korea and Russia.

Our military is already stretched precariously thin. This is sheer INSANITY! They better not is all I have to say. They damn well better not.

21. They didn't entirely 'go along' with Iraq
So I don't think they'll go along with any Iran excursion this time around, when they know how criminal this administration is. After all, 23 senators and 133 congresspeople voted against the IWR, if I remember. That's a pretty sizable chunk of politicians when you consider the media's whoring at the time.

22. I think the Democrats would go along w/Bushco on
invading Iran. After all not only will the media say 9/11, 9/11, terror, 9/11 but they will also show pix of the hostages from 1979 and say the US is freeing Iran from the radical Muslims who held Americans for over a year.

24. Iran is more than likely covered in the Iraq or some other resolution...
...that gives the "CIC" authority to wage aggressive war with any suspected terrorist state or...individual.

- Bush* probably won't have to consult with congress AT ALL before he launches another attack.
